I am a postdoctoral researcher at Bern University of Applied Sciences (BFH) in the Department of Business. Previously, I was a postdoctoral research fellow at the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) of the United Nations in Geneva. I hold a PhD in Economics from the University of Neuchâtel, Switzerland. In 2020, I had the opportunity to be a visiting scholar at the Copenhagen Business School (CBS) in Denmark. I have also worked as an intern and junior economist at the Swiss Federal Institute of Intellectual Property (IPI). My research and teaching interests are in the areas of intellectual property, innovation, digitalization, sustainability, applied econometrics, and creative industries. My work has been published in international journals, including the Journal of Cultural Economics and Industry and Innovation.

The overarching goal of my research is to provide robust empirical evidence to inform current policy debates. To achieve this, I devote considerable time and creativity to novel data collection and econometric analysis. My data collection process typically involves building web crawlers and other tools to compile comprehensive datasets for research purposes. Ideally, I aim to make both the data and the data collection process publicly available and thoroughly documented.

Next, I select an appropriate empirical framework to apply state-of-the-art econometric methods to answer the research questions. I prefer quasi-natural experiments such as regression discontinuity designs, difference-in-difference models, or event-studies to describe causal effects.

Overall, my research approach is focused on providing insightful and interdisciplinary analysis to various policy debates. Therefore, my current research involves collaborations with scholars from cultural economics, data science, law, and economics, among others. Feel free to contact me for collaborations. You can find my CV here.
